Movable Type 3.14

Anoche se publicó la versión 3.14 de Movable Type. Corrige los problemas de denegación de servicio que están sufriendo algunos sitios debido a los comentarios basura. Debido a un fallo de MT, incluso utilizando comentarios moderados, la página se reconstruye, lo que supone una carga innecesaria. Es por eso que se recomienda la actualización. Mena Troot comenta el asunto en su rincón:
«When you're receiving 10,000 obscene comments in the span of an hour, it's completely understandable the amount of frustration that mounts. We waited to communicate all the issues until we had better idea of what was happening. And, because we waited we were able to delve deeper into the issue. Thankfully, our message to our users evolved from "there *are* ways to solve the issue" to, "actually, we made a mistake."»
Jay Allen explica con detalle los cambios introducidos en esta nueva versión:
«The main changes in this new version are explained in detail below, but in summary, you can expect these updates: Unnecessary rebuilds upon comment moderation are eliminated. Generation of internal bookkeeping data for dynamic pages is not performed when using static pages. New weblogs default to having comment moderation enabled».
